For medical, legal, tax or immigration matters, ask about the relevant professional experience and qualifications. Practical support and language assistance do not replace advice from a qualified professional. For official document translations, check the Spanish Ministry’s sworn translator and interpreter register.

Start with a conversation

You do not need to know
all the right words.

Describe the appointment, letter or practical task you need help with. Sue will reply to understand what you need and look for someone suitable.

Enquiries welcome across Tenerife. Travel, remote support and local coverage depend on the provider.

    Tell Sue what you need

Share your area, the type of help and any relevant date. Keep personal documents and sensitive details out of the initial enquiry.

  2. 2

    Discuss a suitable introduction

Sue will look for a provider and check with you before sharing your contact details. An introduction depends on finding someone suitable and available.

  3. 3

    Agree the support directly

Confirm the scope, price, qualifications where relevant and terms with the provider before booking. Your enquiry does not commit you to pay.

A few useful answers

Before you ask for help.

What is the difference between translation and interpreting?

Translation concerns written text. Interpreting supports spoken conversations, including appointments. Tell Sue whether you need help with a document, a conversation or both.

Can someone accompany me to an appointment in Tenerife?

You can ask for appointment assistance in your enquiry. Include the general type of appointment, area, date and languages needed. The provider must confirm availability, experience and whether they can attend.

Can I ask for help with NIE, TIE or padrón paperwork?

Yes. Tell Sue which procedure you need help with. She will look for someone offering suitable administrative support. Requirements and eligibility must be checked with the relevant authority or a qualified adviser; an introduction does not guarantee an appointment or outcome.

Do you provide official or sworn translations?

This website introduces enquiries to independent providers. If an authority requires a sworn translation, say so when you enquire and check that the translator holds the appropriate qualification. Ordinary language assistance is not a substitute for a sworn translation.

How much does expat support cost?

Ask for a written quote before agreeing to proceed. The price may depend on the task, appointment length, travel, preparation and documents involved. Confirm any minimum charge, taxes, cancellation terms and official fees separately. There are no fixed package prices on this website.

Is this only for people moving to Tenerife?

No. You can enquire whether you are planning a move, have recently arrived or have lived here for years. Explain the practical help you need now.

Who will provide the service?

Sue Berry at A Little Local Help coordinates your initial enquiry and looks for a suitable independent provider. Sue will check with you before sharing your contact details. You agree the work, costs and terms directly with that provider.

Your plans in Tenerife

Start with the place and the practicalities.

For practical support in Tenerife, name the town and the appointment location, whether in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, La Laguna, Puerto de la Cruz or the south. Say whether you need someone to attend with you or whether remote language support might help. Confirm travel time, scope and fees directly with the provider before booking.
